MICROCALCIFICATIONS are findings that can only be seen with xray studies (i.e. mammogram). They bring up the concern of a possible breast cancer and usually require surgery to biopsy the area through a tiny incision to make the diagnosis.
BREAST CANCER requires surgical resection if a cure is to be achieved. Often time breast surgery is done with breast conservation and reconstruction when appropriate.
