Jose Fernandez, MD FACS

Dr. Fernandez is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and went on to complete a General Surgery residency at Wayne State University/ Detroit Medical Center.

His interest in emergency general surgery led him to a Acute Care Surgery fellowship with Emory University at Grady Memorial Hospital. Dr. Fernandez is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

He enjoys all general surgery and has special clinical interests include gallbladder, thyroid, abdominal wall reconstruction, thoracoscopic surgery and emergency general surgery.

Jose enjoys spending time with his family, and is an avid fan of grappling martial arts.

Dr. Fernandez is fluent in both Spanish and English.
